The texts for this sermon was from Deuteronomy 26:1-11 and Luke 4:1-13.  When people think of Lent, they think it is all about giving something up.  The gospel tells us that it is more than than that.

"Love Never Fails" Sermon delivered July 12, 2015

The reading was 1 Corinthians 13.  I delivered this sermon shortly after the Supreme Court passed marriage equality.  Even though our congregation was ONA, there were still some in the congregation who felt uncomfortable with this ruling.  I wanted to let the congregation know that as long as we are able to talk about our beliefs with respect and are willing to listen to beliefs that are different from ours, it is possible for us to be in community with each other even when we don't agree with each other.
